When anyone starts blogging then his/her
firstgoal is to seeking attention
towards his/her blog. Yes, it is the
truth that everyone wants this. When I
started blogging few months back, I
though how I can make a good number of
traffic for my weblog. But now I have
regular 60+ readers in my weblog and
they find this helpful for them. I have
total 1700+ visitors up to this day. To
make this number of traffic I have done
hard job with this weblog. Yes, getting
attention is not much easier. It takes
time to build a number of traffic and
without putting good effort on it you
cannot get good number of traffic in
your weblog.
Here I am going to discuss about few
tips, which will help to get good
traffic on your weblog and I wish by
following these tips you can make a
good number of traffic in you weblog.
Create and Update "About
Page": While creating your blog you
should keep in mind that visitors to
your site may want to know something
about yourself. If you don't update your
"About page" and include a short bio,
they'll find a generic page and will be
disappointed. But if you briefly explain
(twoparagraphs is sufficient) what the
blog is about, and who you are, they'll
be more likely to come back.
Social Publicize: You can easily set
up your WordPress.com blog in order to
share automatically new posts out to
your Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo or
LinkedIn accounts. This increases your
reach every time you publish a post. Not
onlyin WordPress, if you are using
Blogger then you can use their Social
Widgets for sharing automatically new
posts out to your Twitter, Facebook,
Yahoo or LinkedIn accounts.
Social Sharing:With a few clicks, you
can make it sure that any visitor can
share a link to your post out to their
social networks, blogs, or through
email.
Turn on eMail Subscription for
Readers: Email is often forgotten as a
source of traffic. If you turn on the
Subscriptions widget, people can choose
to get notified of new posts on your
blog, automatically, via email. It's a
great way to keep them connected to your
blogwithout any extra work done by you
for them. You can use "Feedburner" if
you are using Blogger for your blogging.
"Feedburner" will help you to get
Email Subscriptions widget for your
blog.
Blogger Post
Regularly: Pick a schedule that works
for you – once a day, once a week, once
every two weeks, and stick to it.
Mention that frequency in your "About
page", and put reminders on your
personal calendar. It's only when people
can expect regular posts that they'll be
compelledto come back to see what
you've written next. If you need ideas
for posts, do web research with Google
or various Social Media Network mostly
I'll prefer Facebook in this regard. In
order to quickly generate new posts
while you are browsing the web, use
'PressThis' if you are a WordPress user,
use'BlogThis' if you are a Blogger
user and if you use any other Blogging
Platform, use similar key as
'PressThis' or 'BlogThis'.
Good Writing: It's often unsaid,
but unanimously acknowledged that better
posts get more traffic. There's no sense
inposting every day, if every post is
boring or poorly written. It takes time
to develop interesting ideas, and to
edit posts to be concise and typo free.
If people find a careless writer at
work, they won't be back. What is the
use of such posts if the content they
see isn't good enough for them to choose
to return?
Suitable and Catchy Title:Blog
post titles are like newspaper
headlines. They need to be short and
interesting to get people to want to see
what's inside. It takes some thinking to
geta title down to a short sentence,
but it's time well spent. On Facebook
and Twitter, all people will often see
is the title and your link.
Similar Bloggers Link: When you will
make a link to another blog, then
they'll get notified (via a pingback)
that someone has mentioned them. This
will encourage them to visit your blog
and, if they like and get what they
find, they'll likely link to your blog
as well in their posts. But do it
cautiously; avoid too many links as
WordPress and Blogger both can get it as
SPAM!!!If you find a post, you like,
excerpt a paragraph and link to the
rest. Also you can check out Freshly
Pressed and Global Tags for WordPress
and Google Blog Searchfor Blogger to
find blogs with similar interests, and
subscribe to their blog. You can use
tags in your own posts so your work will
surface there as well.
Post Comments on Similar Blog: Every
comment is an opportunity to show how
well you write and think. When people
read a great comment, they'll see your
name, and the link to your blog, and
they become encouraged to see what else
you have to say. Identify good blogs on
topics similar to your own, read and
contribute sincerely.
Respond to your every comment: When
people comment on your blog, they've
invested a lot of their time. Reward
them by answering questions and taking
their feedback, and they'll come back
again.
Post a Requests: Write a post
requesting your readers (or your
friends) to suggest topics to write
about. Reach out to Facebook, twitter,
or friends, for suggestions. Then let
them know you've written about what they
asked for. It's a great way to make sure
everythingyou write will have at least
one reader.
Buy your Traffic: Web applications
like "StumbleUpon" can bring visitors
to your posts with rates starting at
$.05 per visit. If you've just published
agreat post and you really want some
feedback from visitors, this can be a
good way to get started. Companies
looking for broader distribution,
including getting content seen by
journalists, should try services like
"PRNewswire".
Often you'll hear about get traffic
fast schemes, but I don't believe
that they really do. There's no more
magical hush-hush for it.
I think if you just follow the advice
above, is more than sufficient to
increase visitors to your blog. I hope
